RWO helps to meet the global challenges of the shipping industry for more sustainability and cost effective solutions. In addition to the tried and tested ecological water treatment solutions for the protection of the seas, such as the oily water separator OWS-COM, the water treatment experts from RWO can also inform about the digital bilge management system CBM-LINK and the development of a new advanced waste water treatment system (AWT) for the cruise industry. The new system is MEPC 227 (64) compliant including special areas and removes more than 99.99% of solids including microplastic. It benefits from a membrane with extremely high mechanical strength and long lifetime. The system has a low space requirement and offers user-friendly, intuitive operation.
The OWS-COM oily water separator complies with the IMO Resolution MEPC.107(49) by using a combination of the highly effective open porous coalescer together with a second stage emulsion breaking oil and hydrocarbon polisher.
CBM+ is the final control mechanism before bilge water is discharged. The system has a 3-way valve, which allows the inflow of treated bilge water and water that is normally uncontaminated, such as condensate from air conditioners. The system independently monitors whether, as prescribed by IMO Resolution MEPC 107 (49, maximum oil content of 0, 5 or 15 ppm in the water being discharged is complied with and automatically transfers it either directly overboard or to the bilge water tank.
