MBR Marine sewage treatment plants
MARTIN Systems GmbH is an internationally active company in the field of wastewater treatment. We offer complete on-board systems for maritime applications, including:
Vacuum systems,
Flotation systems for the treatment of gray water from the galley,
grease separators,
transfer pump units,
Tank equipment,
Mechanical pretreatment systems,
High efficiency biological treatment systems,
Membrane filtration systems,
Equipment for sludge treatment,
Food waste systems,
Vacuum toilets and
Exhaust air treatment.
All MARTIN membrane systems have a compact design, require small tank capacities and little space and are customized solutions tailored to the individual requirements of each vessel.
Martin Systems offers four different systems for wastewater treatment in the maritime sector:
BMA N-Line
Standard with approval according to IMO MEPC.227 (64], MEPC.290(62)
BMA R-Line
for river vessels
BMA C-Line
for cruise ships
BMA S-Line
extended treatment with nitrogen and phosphorus treatment
Mechanical pre-treatment
For a safe and low-maintenance operation of membrane activated sludge plants, hair, fast substances, etc., which can form undesirable plugs in the membrane biology, must be screened out of the raw wastewater. However, the organic contents from the screenings should be returned to the biological treatment stage as a carbon source.
For decentralized membrane wastewater treatment plants, a simple and inexpensive mechanical pre-treatment for the separation of screenings and grit is required. The CUBE Fine Screen meets these requirements by combining vertical fine screening with screenings washing and a circular grit trap. The separated solids can be discharged via a dewatering screw. The separated screenings and the accumulating sand can also be sucked directly out of the container by means of a suction device.
Range of application
mechanical pre-treatment stage for decentralized wastewater treatment plants
fine screening < 3 mm hole diameter (especially suitable for membrane activated sludge plants)
flow rate max. 7 L/s
Vacuum Systems & Toilets
Martin offers vacuum systems and equipment for the collection of black and sometimes gray water. Our vacuum stations usually have double vacuum and drain pumps and vacuum collection tank, which provides excellent vacuum performance, especially when used simultaneously.
Waste treatment
Food waste treatment is a very important task on board cruise ships. Every day, 0.8-2 kg per person per day needs to be processed, but high amounts of food waste affect the performance of the wastewater system. Our food waste systems are easy to operate and require minimal maintenance. Food waste systems consist of one or more feeding stations (disposers) in the kitchen and a collection tank (capacity 3 or 5 m³). The food scraps are crushed and enter the holding tank by vacuum, resulting in only a small pipe diameter and less flushing water. Optionally, a skimmer can be offered for drainage if the wastewater system has sufficient capacity.
Transfer Pump Units & Lifting Units
Flexible and individual tanks (5-5,000 ltr) with appropriate pump design according to technical requirements:
Redundant
Simple
Stainless steel
Color coated
With own control system
Integration into existing control system
Exhaust air treatment
We offer different systems, from powder activated carbon filters, both with plastic and stainless steel containers, to exhaust air scrubbers, ozone or ionization systems. All of these are customer-specific productions, adapted to the technical requirements. Please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be pleased to advise you.
Grease separation
The flotation plant is used to remove fats, oils and grease from the kitchen water and ensures trouble-free plant operation. Compared to a grease trap, the flotation plant operates fully automatically and has a much higher removal rate for FOGs, resulting in better MBR performance.
